The OutList is a way for CSULB students, staff, faculty, and alumni to come out as LGBT individuals or heterosexual allies of LGBT individuals, should they choose to do so. Through the publication of the OutList, Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) Secretary for LGBTQIA Affairs, Queers and Allies (Q & A), Delta Lambda Phi (DLP), the LGBT Student Resource Center (LGBTSRC), and Student Life and Development (SLD) hope to continue the campus tradition of recognizing out and proud LGBTQIA individuals and their heterosexual allies in the CSULB community.
During the week of October 6, 2014, ASI, Q & A, DLP, LGBTSRC, and SLD published the OutList in the campus' Union Newspaper. You may download a copy of the 2014 OutList HERE.
The publication included the following language to explain the OutList:
"We are students, professors, coworkers, roommates, teammates, alumni/ae, friends, and family, and we are just a few of the intelligent, creative, and supportive lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning individuals - or heterosexual allies of LGBT individuals - who are part of the diverse Cal State Long Beach community. We invite you to join us in celebrating National Coming Out Day."
Following this statement appeared hundreds of names of LGBT or ally students, faculty, staff, and alumni who had chosen to be on CSULB's 2014 OutList.
