Dear African American Graduate,
Congratulations on your graduation from California State University, Long Beach! Your time spent at this university will prove to be one of the most significant experiences of your life.
The 29th Annual African American Graduation Celebration will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 2:00 PM. There will be a reception with light hors d'oeuvres to follow.
Graduates are required to wear a cap and gown, which are available for rent at the University Bookstore. All graduates are to arrive for the rehearsal at the CSULB Pyramid on May 14, 2016 no later than 10:00 AM. We ask that the graduates arrive for the rehearsal dressed for the celebration. You will not have time to leave after the rehearsal.
The registration fee of $40.00 is due by Wednesday, April 27, 2016 by 5:00 pm in order to participate in the Celebration. There is a $2.00 admission charge for the Celebration Guest Tickets. Payments can be made at the Associated Students Business Office (USU-229). Please note: Only cash and money orders are accepted for payment.
All Graduate and Undergraduate Speakers, Poets, and African Dancers who want to speak/perform at the graduation must e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for auditions on either April 8th from 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM or on April 15th from 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM. Auditions will take place at the Leadership Resource Center (LRC) located on the third floor of the University Student Union, room 314. Please email the Graduation Committee at email@example.com with any questions.
