2016-2017 Hot Scholarships

The following scholarships are specifically for CSULB students and are supported by the Center for Scholarship Information. To apply for the scholarships below, please see the bottom of each individual scholarship page for the online link. Each scholarship is listed with the main criteria and are in order of their deadline. Please click on each link for additional criteria and requirements.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All scholarships are disbursed the semester following the deadline and you must be enrolled in order to receive funds (i.e. scholarships with spring deadlines will be disbursed the following fall).

Deadline: Thursday, February 4, 2016 by 4pm

  1. Assistance League of Long Beach Scholarship ($1,000-$2,000)

Deadline:  Thursday, February 25, 2016 by 4pm

  1. 49er Textbook Scholarship (100-150 @ $500) for students who demonstrate a financial need for textbooks
  2. Alan T. Nishio Educational Equity Excellence scholarship ($500-$1,000) for undergraduates who have initiated change in historically underrepresented or disadvantaged communities to increase access and success in higher education
  3. Beauchamp Family Scholarship ($4,000; $2,000/semester) for undergraduates who work at least 20 hours per week and receive no financial aid from federal or state grants
  4. Carl E. Riley Endowed STEM Award ($1,000-$2,000) for students with majors in CNSM or COE with at least a 3.0 GPA and who demonstrate a financial need
  5. Douglas W. Robinson Student Success Scholarship (Several @ $2,000) for full-time undergraduates with at least a 3.0 GPA who have participated in a learning experience outside of the classroom
  6. John and Flora Olsen Scholarship ($2,500-$3,000) for full-time students who have a financial need
  7. John E. Flynn Endowed Scholarship ($2,000-$2,500) for any Veteran student who demonstrates financial need
  8. John Kashiwabara Endowed Academic Award ($1,500-$2,000) for juniors & seniors with at least 3.0 GPA who participate in any CSULB athletic team (NCAA or club sports) & major in CHHS, CBA, COE, CED or CNSM
  9. Osher Reentry Endowed Scholarship (Several @ $2,000) for undergraduates reentry students who have at least a 5 year break in their education
  10. Robinett Family Veterans Success Scholarship (3 @ $2,000) for student veterans who have exhausted their GI Bill benefits
  11. Rotary Club of Long Beach Millennium Scholarship (Several @ $2,500; $1,250/semester) for full-time undergraduates with at least a 2.0 GPA who graduated from a Long Beach area high school or lived in Long Beach when graduating from high school
  12. Rotary Club of Long Beach Nursing and Health Related Scholarship (Several @ $2,500; $1,250/semester) for full-time undergraduates with at least a 2.0 GPA who are majoring in a health related field of study and participate in clinical work at a LB hospital
  13. Rotary Club of Long Beach Aerospace Engineering Scholarship ($5,000; $2,500/semester) for full-time undergraduates with at least a 2.0 GPA who are majoring in aerospace engineering and reside in Long Beach area
  14. Senator Jenny Oropeza Memorial Scholarship ($3,000/semester) for first generation full-time undergraduates or credential students with at least a 2.75 GPA who are leaders in their community
  15. Tony Ferris Memorial Scholarship ($2,000-$2,500) for full-time juniors or seniors from a single parent family household who demonstrate financial need
