Faculty-in-Residence (FIR) are CSULB full-time tenured or tenured track faculty members who live in an apartment in one of the residential colleges and serves 10 hours per week as liaisons between faculty and students while also encouraging the social, intellectual and academic involvement of students living in the residential halls. Resident Assistants (RAs) are undergraduate students who live in their communities of responsibility and report to a Residential Coordinator (RC) assigned to a residential college. As an employee of Housing and Residential Life (HRL), Resident Assistants contribute to the mission of the department and California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) through a curricular approach to learning in the residence halls. RAs support the residential curriculum by engaging students through our educational strategies and connecting them to campus resources. RAs emphasize academic engagement, interpersonal skills, wellness, and inclusivity in their communities.
Attendance at an information session is required to apply for the position. RA Applications will be emailed to candidates that attend one of the information sessions. Below is the schedule of information sessions:
