Frequently Asked Questions About Moving In


  • Academic Year 2019-20
    First time residents will be required to move in on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 for the 2019-20 Academic Year. The specific time for check-in will be announce by email to those confirmed housing in late July.
    Returning residents will be able to move in on Friday, August 23, 2019 for the 2019-20 Academic year.
  • Spring 2020 Term
    Students who apply for Spring 2020 term, and are confirmed, will be able to move in on Sunday, January 19, 2020.

You’ll see your own room the day you move in. To see a typical room and suite arrangement, we invite you to take a Residence Hall tour during the summer months. The tour takes approximately 30 minutes and reservations are not required. For more information go to our University Housing Tours page.

You’ll meet your roommate during move-in weekend. You can, however, communicate through the Housing Portal one week after the roommate selection process is completed.

New residents are required to attend Beach Days. They should expect to spend the first week settling into your new living environment and participating in activities to get to know your fellow residents better, as well as getting to know the campus.

If you are unable to move in during your assigned time, you need to contact the Housing office to confirm rearrangements. Early move-ins are not possible.

No. We do not have storage to hold things in advance, and our staff is training and prepping for all the student arrivals up to the day prior to the official Move-In Day.
