Types Of Gifts - How Can You Help

Your gift today helps create a legacy for educational access for future generations of Foster Youth students at California State University, Long Beach.
The following suggestions are methods you can use to help make this happen:

  • Give Image Gifts of Cash
    Gifts of cash are of vital importance because they can be immediately applied to the Endowment Campaign. Pledged cash gifts may be made on a schedule and in amounts convenient to the donor.

    Donate online or make a gift by check payable to the "CSULB Foundation."

  • Real or Personal Property and Securities
    These gifts offer substantial advantages to the donor. The sale of these items by our Program offers the same flexibility as with cash gifts.
  • Gifts-In-Kind
    Gifts-in-kind contributions includes gift cards and other tangible items that can be used by Guardian Scholars Program.
  • Planned Gifts
    The most common form of a planned gift is a bequest. For example, our Guardian Scholars Program can be named as a beneficiary in a will. All charitable bequests are tax deductible in full.
  • Matching Gifts / Corporate Giving

    Many corporations have programs where an employee's charitable contributions are matched by the company. A company may match an employee's contribution as much as three-to-one, in some cases.

    If your employer has a matching gift program, please follow the below process:
    - Obtain your matching-gift form, which is usually from your Human Resources office

What Your Gift Will Fund

  • Academic Support
    $500 for book grants to enable 1 student to purchase books and online component for classes for 1 semester
  • Learning Skills and Advising
    $10,000 per year for learning strategies workshops to support life skills, budgeting, study skills for students with demonstrated need
  • Scholarships
    $10,000 for financial assistance for 10 students who have demonstrated need and academic ability.
  • Peer counseling
    $5,000 per year for peer support, which aids in the learning process.
  • Laptop Program
    $5,000 per year for peer support, which aids in the learning process.
  • Dorm Kits
    $100 provides a Dorm kit to include extra-long sheets
