The Disabled Student Services (DSS) Program, at CSULB, was founded in 1973 by a group of students who believed in affecting necessary change in order to make the campus more accessible to students with a disability. Since its establishment, DSS has grown into a program that provides services to over 1,000 students each semester. Each year DSS provides over 60,000 hours of direct support services to students with disabilities. In the course of the past 27 years, Disabled Student Services has assisted over 3,300 students graduate from our university.
These essential program services are offered to enhance the success of students with disabilities in their academic pursuits.
Throughout the course of its history, Disabled Student Services has enjoyed a rich and positive working relationship with the CSULB faculty. DSS will endeavor to continue its efforts to build stronger partnerships in the future.
