Virtual Mental Wellness Center

Counseling and Psychological Services and Project OCEAN are actively building additions to this set of virtual resources that are designed to support and enhance your mental health and wellness. Asian and Pacific Islanders Support Group

This group is for API students interested in exploring social stigma, anti-Asian racism, intergenerational conflict, anxiety during the Covid-19 pandemic, and self-care strategies. A 4-week group starting April 15th through May 6th.

Beach Parents: A Space to Connect with other Pregnant and Parenting Students

First at the Beach: Supporting the CSULB First Gen Graduating Class of 2020

For many First Generation College Students, graduation symbolizes the
culmination of your and your loved ones’ hard work, sacrifice, and pride.
Due to national efforts to protect our communities from COVID-19,
commencement for CSULB’s 2020 graduating class has been postponed. You may be experiencing complicated feelings as a result of this postponement. Join Dr. Elisa Hernandez via Zoom for a supportive discussion meant to honor your feelings, provide support, and tap into community wisdom and creativity to brainstorm ways to celebrate your accomplishments.

QPR Suicide Prevention Workshops

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer, 3 simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life. This nationally recognized certification training is intended to teach individuals how to recognize the symptoms/ warning signs of suicide and provide guidelines as to how to appropriately Question a person about suicidal thoughts, how to Persuade them to get help, and how to Refer the person to seek help. Upon completion of training, participants will be certified as a QPR Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper for 3 years. *Training facilitated by Project OCEAN.

Mental Health and Wellness Workshops

Self Healing - We Are All Connected

This workshop involves a contained movement sequence to address stress and energetic stagnation in the body. Elements of Reiki, Qi Gong, Kundalini Yoga, Somatics, and Dance/Movement Therapy combine with self-touch and relaxation. A period of reflection and conversation will follow. Please wash your hands before class and have a pen, pencil, crayons, or markers, and a piece of paper handy. No experience is necessary, and all are welcome. Participants are not required to utilize their camera or audio features during our session.

Motivation & Burnout - Signs and Coping Stategies

Project OCEAN and CAPS represenatives will be having a weekly discussion/workshop on Instagram live on motivation and burnout. There, they will talk symptoms, coping strategies, tips and wellness plans to help with the lack of motivation and burnout.
