Long Beach Cal-SOAP

The California Student Opportunity and Access Program (Cal-SOAP) was established by the California State Legislature in 1978 for the purpose of increasing postsecondary educational opportunities to certain targeted students by providing them with outreach and related services.

Goals

  • Increase the awareness and access to information about post-secondary education and Financial Aid.
  • Improve student access to post-secondary education by ensuring their academic preparedness.
  • Coordination/partnership leveraging local, state, and federal resources and partnerships to maximize impact.
  • Support the capacity development of college students working with Cal-SOAP.
