The Collegiate Learning Assessment is a national program of the Council for Aid to Education. It offers participating institutions an opportunity to assess the critical writing skills of freshmen and seniors, and view evidence of progress in this important skill area. This internetbased assessment is offered to freshmen in the fall and seniors in the spring by the office of Testing, Evaluation & Assessment. Institutions receive complete data files at the end of the testing year, while students are given access to their scores online along with a comparison of their performance to students who also took the assessment. The Collegiate Learning Assessment is a component of the Voluntary System of Accountability for many institutions such as ours.
The Collegiate Learning Assessment will be administered once again in the fall of 2013 and the spring of 2014. Demonstrations of the assessment will be available to faculty and staff this fall and spring. Dates for these will be posted on this website as they become available.
Results of the last completed administration of the Collegiate Learning Assessment from the 20122013 academic year are summarized in the tables below. For the complete report, please click here. Valueadded and precision estimates can be found on page 3 of this report.
