CSULB will receive nearly $1 million as the lead campus in a CSU initiative designed to prepare educators proficient in Linked Learning, an educational approach that integrates strong academics with career-based learning and real-world workplace experiences.
Nominations for the 2014 CSULB Outstanding Staff Award are being accepted through Friday, January 10.
Nominations may be submitted by any member of the campus community, including the nominee. No individuals may recommend more than one nominee. Past award recipients cannot submit nominations. The nominator is responsible for collecting items required for the packet, verifying that it is complete prior to submission.
Information Technology Services (ITS), in coordination with the Chancellor's Office, will be performing mandatory campus network upgrades through Saturday, January 18. This activity is part of the Chancellor's Office Common Network Initiative (CNI) to upgrade all 23 CSU campuses to a common network infrastructure.
The upgrade will require network outages of approximately one to two hours and will occur on a building by building basis within this two-week period during regular business hours from 8 am to 5 pm. During the network upgrade outage, services such as email, file shares, Internet access, and network printing on desktop computers and wireless devices will not be available for short periods.
You are advised to save your work frequently if you are accessing documents on a file share to avoid loss of data in the event your network connection is disrupted during the upgrade.
Sections of each building will be upgraded during this process, so only isolated portions of a building will experience a network outage at any given time each day. As work is performed at each building location, signs will be posted indicating "Network Upgrade in Progress."
The following facilities will not be affected:
Status updates are available online.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this mandatory CSU project. For more information about CNI, visit the CSU Synergy page regarding Next Generation CyberInfrastructure. For questions or concerns, please contact ITS-ServiceManagement@csulb.edu.
