Convocation is Friday

Faculty and staff are invited to begin the new academic year at Convocation this Friday.

A breakfast reception will be held in the Dance Courtyard from 8 to 8:45 am with the program beginning at 9 am in the Carpenter Performing Arts Center. If you require special accommodations, please contact Disabled Student Services at extension 5-5401.

This event is an opportunity for the campus community to come together to welcome new colleagues, celebrate recent achievements and share ideas as we look to the future.


New Events Coordinator Overseeing Anatol Center Reservations

Michelle Terry has joined CSULB as the Academic Events Coordinator, responsible for coordinating Commencement, Convocation, Faculty Supper Club, the Student Research Competition and other division events.

Michelle will also be handling reservations for the Anatol Center. You can check the Anatol Center’s availability in Outlook by following these steps:

  1. Open your Outlook calendar.
  2. Click “Open Calendar.”
  3. Click “From Room List.” AE-AnatolCenter-AS119 will be the first room that appears.
  4. Click “Rooms.”
  5. Click “Ok.” The schedule for the Anatol Center will appear as a separate calendar.

Tech Tip

The Tech Squad provides one-on-one technology support to CSULB instructors who would like assistance with training and technical support for BeachBoard, clickers, Collaborate (formerly Elluminate), Respondus, wikis, and Turnitin.

The Tech Squad is located in the Academic Services building, room 120.  Hours are 8 am - 8 pm Monday through Thursday and 8 am - 5 pm on Fridays  during the fall semester. Email to make an appointment or drop by. For online assistance, email the Technology Service Desk or call extension 5-4959.


Did You Know?

A CSULB program that provides laid-off Long Beach Unified School District teachers with additional training and credentials to become math or science teachers has received the Association for Continuing Higher Education’s Distinguished Program Award.

Congratulations to the College of Continuing and Professional Education, the College of Education and the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, which developed the program with LBUSD and the Pacific Gateway Workforce Investment Network.
