This week California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) is hosting a site visit in connection with its reaccreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Students, faculty and staff can provide input to the WASC visiting team, by sending comments regarding the quality of the educational experience at CSULB to firstname.lastname@example.org. This is a secure e-mail address to which only authorized WASC team members have access. Comments will not be viewed by any representative from CSULB.
Anyone who wishes to send a message to the team is encouraged to comment on issues of academic rigor and consistency, availability of student support services, and other matters related to the quality of the educational experience. The WASC team is particularly interested in hearing from students enrolled in distance education courses and programs and from students at off-campus sites because these students are not usually able to attend open meetings on the campus.
E-mail responses, institutional reports, on-campus interviews, and comments received during the open forum will become part of the information collected and reviewed by the visiting team. Team members will not respond individually to comments provided through any of these venues, including those made through the confidential e-mail account. This input, along with other forms of information, will be considered as the team undertakes its work and develops recommendations for our institution. Comments must be received by Friday, March 6, to be considered as part of the review process.
