Educational Opportunity Program 100 Instructor

Effective Date

August 17, 2016 (Fall 2016 Semester and/or Spring 2017 Semester)

Salary Range

Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in related area
  • Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence
  • Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population

     

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching experience demonstrating excellence at college level course
  • Experience in EOP 100 or other related college level course

     

Duties

  • Teach first-time freshmen students in the following areas: college transition, University and EOP resources, test-taking, note-taking, time management and decision-making skills
  • Collaborate with EOP 100 Coordinator in developing course syllabus, course/topic activities, and methods for evaluation of student’s progress
  • Assist and support students with career and major exploration
  • Advice students regarding instruction or course progress
  • Assist in acquiring appropriate instructional materials and library collections
  • Provide weekly reports
  • Participate and attend staff meetings

  • A copy of transcript from institution awarding highest degree

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position.
