Full-Time Lecturer in Advanced Studies in Education and Counseling (School Psychology Program) 1-Academic Year 2018-2019

Minimum Qualifications

  • M.A., M.S., or Ed.S. in School Psychology or related discipline.
  • California Pupil Personnel Services School Psychology credential by August 1, 2018.
  • Experience with psychoeducational assessment, consultation, counseling and/or behavior analysis.
  • Demonstrated commitment to preparing school psychologists in a manner consistent with the National Association of School Psychologist (NASP) domains for training and practice.
  • Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence at the college level appropriate to teaching assignment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D. in School Psychology or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level appropriate to the teaching assignment.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and/or NASP PREPaRE Trainer.

 

Duties

Teach a variety of assessment and intervention courses to graduate students in the Educational Specialist in School Psychology program, including, but not limited to:

          • Psychoeducational assessment
          • Counseling
          • Consultation
          • School crisis planning
          • Behavioral assessments and interventions
          • Academic assessments and interventions
          • Fieldwork supervision

Engage in service activities such as reading comprehensive exams, student advising, thesis committees, program meetings, accreditation, and assisting with selecting applicants to the program.

  • Letter of application addressing the Minimum and Desired/Preferred Qualifications and indicating area(s) of specialization.
  • Curriculum Vitae including current email address.
  • Evidence of successful university teaching experience, if available (e.g., student teaching evaluation summaries).
  • Sample psychoeducational, intervention or consultation report (with all student identifying information redacted).
  • Copy of a transcript from the institution awarding highest degree.
  • Copy of California Pupil Personnel Services School Psychology credential
  • Copy of Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and/or NASP PREPaRE Trainer certification, if applicable.
  • Finalists will be required to submit a signed SC-1 form, an official transcript from the institution awarding the highest degree, and three current letters of recommendation (at least one of which must be from outside CSULB).
