Commensurate with qualifications and experience


Minimum Qualifications

  • Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field to teach undergraduate courses; Ph.D. in Civil Engineering to teach graduate courses
  • Evidence of effective teaching experience in Civil Engineering
  • Expertise and/or commitment to educating a diverse student population


Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Professional Civil Engineering work experience
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in California



  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the following Civil Engineering areas:
    • Surveying and Mapping
    • Materials
    • Fluids laboratory
    • Structural
    • Transportation
    • Construction
    • Geographic Information System
    • Environmental
