An ePortfolio is a digital collection of student work, including uploaded files (Word documents, PDFs, Excel spreadsheets, etc.), text, links, and/or multimedia. ePortfolios are usually used to demonstrate a student's proficiency or showcase accomplishments in certain topics/areas. These topics/areas can be confined to one course, or they can be across courses and/or disciplines. There are generally three types of ePortfolios. Developmental ePortfolios show work over a period of time. Reflective ePortfolios include personal reflections on that work. Representational ePortfolios are selective ePortfolios that only show the best work or achievements.
