The quick start guides provide an overview of the most commonly utilized D2L tools. The help files incorporate more detail and should be referred to as needed.

A quick overview of the new BeachBoard home and course environment.  Course tools include course home widgets (News, Calendar, Updates, and Role Switch), Content, Discussions, Dropbox, Classlist, Online Rooms, Quizzes, Grades, and Edit Course.  Watch the Overview video.

This document covers the conversion of content from a Blackboard course into Desire2Learn and provides tips on getting your course ready to use.

This guide provides a quick introduction to the possible communication tools within a course, i.e. News, Discussions, Email, Widgets, Calendar/Events, and Online Rooms.

The Content tool is where the instructor can post the syllabus, course documents, assignments, external web links and more.

This guide addresses the typical course management processes for instructors, i.e. making the course available, copying course materials from one semester to another, and contacting students.  It also addresses how to customize the course navigation bar and the course homepage.

The Discussions tool allows users to converse with one another through posts on topics set up by the instructor.

icon Dropbox and Turnitin Quick Start Guide

This guide describes how to set up Dropbox folders where students can submit their assignments. Once assignments are submitted, the instructor can download assignments as zip files, sort assignments by users, check submission times, grade assignments, leave feedback, and return submissions with comments, all from within the Dropbox tool.  Turnitin is embedded within this tool.

This guide provides a quick overview on how to use the Grades tool to manage and share grades with students.

The Groups tool allows students to be put into groups. Groups can have their own discussion areas and dropbox folders.

This guide is a quick overview of how to create quiz questions in the Question Library, set up the desired options for a quiz, preview the quiz, and make it available to students.

The Rubrics tool supports the evaluation of an activity or item based on a predefined set of criteria.  Students benefit from knowing the expectations for an assignment as defined by a rubric and the rubric criteria can assist instructors in evaluating activities and items fairly and consistently.
