  • The CSULB Physics & Astronomy Department is one of only six APS Bridge Sites in the nation!

The purpose of the program is to welcome, train, and successfully send off students to do a PhD in Physics, and it focuses on students from the population that are underrepresented in physics.

  • Computational Physics Program

Dr. Papp teaches how to solve computational
    physics problems.
    Read more on the computational
    physics page.

  • Strongly correlated physics group

Dr. Peterson and his group are investigating strongly correlated quantum systems such as the fractional quantum Hall effect and topological quantum phases.

  • Nanoelectronics Group

Dr. Dr. Ojeda-Aristizabal’s group is interested in the exciting phenomena occurring at the nanoscale, from the quantum coherent behavior of electrons in layered materials to the macroscopic effects ruling electrons living in two dimensions.

  • Quantum Few Body Systems

Dr. Papp and his group are investigating the quantum mechanics of few body systems in nuclear and particle physics.
