Alumnus Monica Ambalal accepted a full-time tenure-track position as at Merritt College in Oakland, CA, where she teaches a variety of courses including music appreciation, American popular music, jazz/blues, and African-American Music, and is currently developing a Latin-American music course.
Alumnus Shannon Gravelle (MM Choral Conducting 2013) has been named Interim Director of Choral Activities at the University of Omaha-Nebraska. Shannon completed her coursework for the DMA at the University of Iowa in just two years, and will be spending time in Russia this summer researching her dissertation before taking up her new post in Omaha.
Alumnus Ian Brekke who so ably lead Jazz ‘N Tonic this year as a lecturer, accepted a full-time, tenure-track teaching position as the Director of Choral and Vocal Studies at Las Positas College in Livermore, CA, starting in the Fall 2015 semester. He will be the head of the vocal department and direct both the choral and vocal jazz ensembles.
Dolfo Picanco has been offered a contract to be a music teacher in Long Beach USD next year.
