Please join us for this last solo orchestra concert of the spring semester; our next concerts are collaborations—Opera and Celebrating Music. The program includes the Captain Blood Overture by Korngorld and Shostakovich’s Fifth Symphony. Our new Director of Percussion Studies, Ted Atkatz will also perform Rouse’s concerto, Der gerettet Alebrich (a fantasy for percussion and orchestra on Wagnerian themes).

The tenth edition of this spring classic will be truly extravagant, with more grand pianos (and pianists) on stage than the previous record of six. The entire Bob Cole Conservatory Keyboard faculty will be joined by keyboard studies alumni in a spectacular afternoon celebration featuring classical favorites.

Opera Institute presents Donizetti's Elixir of Love

The Opera Institute Presents
Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore (The Elixir of Love)

Sung in Italian with English Supertitles. Johannes Müller-Stosch, conductor / Andrew Chown, director

The acclaimed Bob Cole Conservatory Opera Institute will perform L’Elisir d’Amore on the campus of California State University, Long Beach in April. Fully staged performances with orchestra will be sung in Italian with English supertitles projected above the stage.
