Studio Orchestra at BCCM with ChloË Agnew

The Studio Orchestra is proud to present Irish singing sensation, Chloë Agnew. A singer-songwriter hailing from Dublin, Ireland, Agnew gained fame as one of the original (and youngest) member of the internationally acclaimed singing group, Celtic Woman.

With the Studio Orchestra, Agnew will perform some of her favorites from her time in Celtic Woman, as well a number of new songs of her new EP.

Guest Artist Recital: Aperture Duo

Adrianne Pope, violin & Linnea Powell, viola.

Aperture Duo curates fearless programs that explore new sounds, voices, and techniques through the lens of violin and viola chamber music. Lauded for their “precision and interpretation” along with their “distinct sense of unity and independence” (icareifyoulisten.com), Los Angeles-based Aperture Duo was founded in 2015 by violinist Adrianne Pope and violist Linnea Powell.

Jazz Combo Night #2

Every semester we host two combo nights at the Nugget Grill & Pub on the upper campus. Three combos are featured at each combo night and the event is always very popular. The smaller jazz groups allow improvisers to stretch out more than in big band settings. Typically the programs feature student arrangements and compositions, as well as their unique renditions of historically relevant small group material.

John Alexander and the Bob Cole Chamber Choir

John Alexander, conductor.

The Bob Cole Chamber Choir is thrilled to present an evening with guest conductor and renowned educator, John Alexander. An acclaimed choral visionary, Alexander has been a bulwark of the Southern California choral scene through his performance, teaching, advocacy and leadership. His legacy includes conducting the Pacific Chorale for 45 seasons, directing the professional ensemble The John Alexander Singers, serving as the former president of Chorus America and teaching for many years at both Cal State Northridge and Cal State Fullerton.

Come join one of the finest collegiate choirs in the US for an extraordinary program of music by Bach, Penderecki, Paulus, Ticheli, Barber and more.

Concert Jazz Orchestra
& Studio Jazz Band

The BCCM jazz studies program proudly presents its final campus concert of the 2018-2019 COncert Jazz Orchestra and Studio Jazz Band. These exciting groups will present a stylistically diverse and entertaining program of classic and cutting-edge music for large jazz ensemble. You’ll hear music by Thad Jones, Charlie Richard, Joey Sellers, Fred Sturm, Matt Harris and more. The Concert Jazz Orchestra will also joined by special guest vocalist Bailey Grogan on a beautiful original composition by Tom Garling. We’ll bid farewell to our graduating undergraduate and graduate band members and Coralie Prince will present the John Prince Memorial Award to a leading jazz major who has excelled in the traditions established when Prince started our jazz program back in the 1970s.
