Composition Day 2016

Composition Day
Tuesday, October 25, 4:00pm—Midnight

Composition Day offers prospective freshmen, junior-transfer, and master's students the opportunity to meet with the Composition faculty to answer questions, tour the conservatory’s facilities, and to join enrolled students for informal discussion, as well as to attend one of our weekly Composition Colloquium meetings, from 3:15-4:30pm. This particular colloquium will feature a few of our current composition students, working at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, sharing recent works in an open forum where all in attendance can offer constructive criticism. Interested parties can also chat with current students in the program over pizza, and then take in a free concert at 8:00pm in the Daniel Recital Hall of recent works written by members of the composition faculty. At 10:00pm in Daniel Recital Hall, the conservatory is also hosting a 60x60 event, presenting 60 electronics works by 60 different composers, with each work lasting 60 seconds or less.
