Singer, pianist, composer, and MAXJAZZ recording artist, John Proulx (pronounced "Proo"), is pleased to be joining the Vocal Jazz faculty at California State University Long Beach. John is also the Director of Commercial Voice at Azusa Pacific University, and Director of the "Jazz Singers" at CSU Fullerton. As a recording artist, John has three CDs on the MAXJAZZ label that have garnered national and international acclaim: The Best Thing For You (2012), Baker’s Dozen—Remembering Chet Baker (2009), and Moon and Sand (2006). While maintaining a busy touring schedule with his own trio, John has also performed with the likes of Anita O’Day, Natalie Cole, Michael Feinstein, Melissa Manchester, and Marian McPartland. John is also a Grammy-winning composer, and has songs recorded by Nancy Wilson, Deana Martin, Mary Stallings, and most recently with Melissa Manchester on her 20th studio album, You Got To Love the Life, featuring a duet with Melissa and Al Jarreau.
