Students decorating the historic First Congregational Church in Long Beach for this year’s Winter Festival Concert.


The Winter Festival Concert features more than 200 singers ringing in the holidays with favorite carols, songs, and classical works in Long Beach’s greatest Winter extravaganza.

Set in the historic sanctuary of First Congregational Church of Long Beach, this traditional concert has thrilled audiences for over five decades. Enjoy the majesty of the great Möller organ, the supreme talents of the Southern California Brass Consortium, Pacific Handbells, and, of course, the combined voices of the CSULB choirs!

Sea Change: Choral Music about Water

The intangible nature of water has fascinated and inspired poets for centuries. The musicians of the CSULB University Choir and Bob Cole Chamber Choir are excited to present an evening of some of these settings. Featured works include You Carry Oceans Within—Paul John Rudoi, But a Flint Holds Fire—Andrea Ramsey, Hymne au Soleil—Lily Boulanger, and a newly commissioned work by CSULB graduate student Matthew Lyon Hazzard.

Chamber and University Choirs
Sea Change: Choral Music about Water

Experience the acoustic capabilities of the Great Hall like never before when the University and Chamber Choirs from CSULB’s Bob Cole Conservatory of Music present “Sea Change: Choral Music about Water" at the Aquarium of the Pacific. Featuring 100 singers and various instrumentalists, the Choirs will perform a program of water-themed music with the Aquarium’s Honda Blue Cavern exhibit as the backdrop. Featured works include You Carry Oceans Within—Paul John Rudoi, Water Night—Eric Whitacre, Hymne au Soleil—Lily Boulanger, and a newly commissioned work, The Ocean Between Us, by CSULB graduate student Matthew Lyon Hazzard.
