Opera

Welcome to Opera at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music.

We are a small program and deliberately so: we focus on your growth as an individual and as an artist. If you join our Opera Program, you will work with an internationally experienced Voice and Opera faculty. Repertoire will be chosen that is appropriate to your vocal and theatrical development. You will get time on stage!

Our Opera course work includes Lyric Diction, Repertoire, Dramatic Coaching, and Movement. Students participate in masterclasses and workshops afforded by our location within one of the busiest and most vibrant cultural centers in the country. We present two major productions each year: an Opera Scenes program in November and a fully staged Spring Production with orchestra in April.

Our students have gone on to pursue graduate study throughout the US and the UK in places such as The San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Cincinnati College Conservatory, UCLA, and The Royal College of Music. They have been featured in Young Artist Programs such as The Merola Program, Music Academy of the West, AIMS, Ravinia, Wolf Trap, and the Lindemann program at the Metropolitan opera.

Please pay us a visit to see if we are a good fit for you. Feel free to reach out to us with any questions. As you begin your career, we hope you’ll consider spending the first and most formative phase of it with us!

We look forward to welcoming you to Long Beach!
