Phil Wagner's research explores questions related to archives, authorship, the Hollywood studio system and historical representation. His articles have appeared in Film History, Film & History, Afterimage andSenses of Cinema, and he has contributed anthology chapters to AFI's The Epic Film in World Culture and to Blackwell's A Companion to Fritz Lang. His current book project (expected early 2020 through University of California Press) is The Volume of the World: Archival Rhetoric and the Cinematic History of Cecil B. DeMille.
