Time Frame

  • Summer 2015: SSC project kick-off.
  • May 2016: Go-live of SSC System (EAB Foundation, Advisor Connect and GradesFirst)
  • Fall 2016: Expansion to include Tutor Trak

Brief Overview

The SSC "Coordinated Care Network" synthesizes current systems (EAB Foundation, CSULB Advisor Connect and GradesFirst (used by Bickerstaff) into one powerful tool that enables the campus community to combine technology, consulting, and best practice research to help CSULB leverage data and analytics to measurably improve student outcomes.

Tutor Trak, a separate system used by campus tutoring centers and tutors will come into the fold in the fall of 2016.

With this exciting new tool, a ‘Coordinated Care Network’ is created for CSULB students:

  • Advisors can easily identify, triage and refer struggling students to Campus Resources
  • Support Services can share insights on student risk and collaborate on intervention outcomes
  • Administrators can view reports, assess effectiveness and make improvements

Workflow for the advising community has been simplified and consolidated into a single Integrated System that includes the following features:

  • Risk Analytics – Predictive modeling and historical insights
  • “Smart View” of academic factors allowing Advisors to quickly assess student risk for more meaningful conversations
  • Communications – Email and text messaging, plus tracking and records
  • Advising Notes – Single record of every support interaction
  • Appointments – Interactive scheduling accessible online by students
  • Increased operational efficiency and coordination using a cross-campus referral system
  • Identifying and segmenting student populations – Advanced filters, including expanded population categories (formerly groups), Reminder and Watch Lists
  • Population of students expanded to include all CSULB students
