Lisa Johnson has been on faculty at California State University, Long Beach since 2006. She currently teaches courses in ballet technique and pointe. Lisa is also on faculty at Orange County School of the Arts, teaching ballet and pointe and serving as ballet mistress in the Classical and Contemporary Dance Conservatory.
She studied classical ballet under scholarship at the Marin Ballet, Cleveland Ballet, School of American Ballet and National Ballet School, Toronto. Lisa was awarded first place in the Marguerite A. Hoffman competition at UCLA and was a semi-finalist competitor in the Prix de Lausanne, Switzerland, as part of the six member American team. She danced professionally with the Los Angeles Classical Ballet, National Ballet of Canada, Feld Ballets/NY, Ballet Chicago and Hamburg Ballet, was principal guest artist with the Santa Barbara Ballet, Ballet Pacifica and Francisco Martinez Dancetheatre.
Lisa has been on faculty at: California State University, Fullerton, Dance Department; Saint Joseph Ballet (currently The Wooden Floor); Long Beach Ballet Arts Center; Southland Ballet Academy; Ballet Pacifica Academy; and the Maple Conservatory of Dance.
