COTA Alumni

Alumni from the College of the Arts currently work in virtually every aspect of the arts and entertainment industries. From studio artists crafting and creating their own work, to curators and agents in museums and galleries; from actors, dancers and musicians performing on stage to the hundreds of designers, technicians, directors and managers working behind the scenes; from educators, scholars and historians to administrators, business leaders, and industry innovators - the CSULB College of the Arts and its alumni continue to make their mark on the world every day. Linda Woolverton wrote the screenplay for Tim Burton's Recent Hit, Alice in Wonderland. Richard and Karen Carpenter were students here when they first won national attention. Alan Baer holds the top tuba position in the USA and is a renowned brass instrument technician.
Mark Steven Johnson wrote and/or directed Grumpy Old Men, Ghost Rider, Daredevil, and  When in Rome. Doug Patton's award-winning designs are heralded for originality and practicality. Brenna Youngblood was the first in her family to attend college. She is now an internationally exhibited artist.
