Engineering Bridge Program

Thank you for your interest in applying to Engineering Bridge (EB) Program at California State University, Long Beach. We are excited that you are interested in being a part of the program! We have many students who are interested in applying, but we will only be able to admit 30 incoming freshmen who are currently in pre-engineering. The application is an important factor in the decision-making process and is designed to recruit students who have the potential to be successful in engineering.

In order to improve students' academic performance and increase their ability to graduate in four years, the College of Engineering has developed a pilot program known as the Engineering Bridge (EB). This program is structured to enhance the opportunities for students to build communities among students and faculty. It is an academic year-long program commencing with the Summer Bridge Program in late August. Students who are accepted into EB will participate in a 5-day Summer Bridge residential program and continue through the academic year as a single cohort thru Fall and Spring. During the academic year, students will take the designated courses listed under Program Guidelines.

There are many benefits to participating in the Engineering Bridge Program, such as:

  • Mentoring
  • Free tutoring
  • Learning Community
  • Academic and Professional Workshops
  • Bookstore credit for books and supplies
  • Social Activities
