Henry Yeh received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of California, Irvine, in 1982 and 1979, respectively. He earned a B.S. degree in Engineering Science from National Chen Kung University in Taiwan, ROC, in 1978.
Yeh has been with the Electrical Engineering department at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) since 1983, as a Professor since 1986. His research activities have included Digital Signal Processing/communication/control algorithms development using MATLAB, and implementation using Field-Programmable Gate Arrays and DSPs with applications to communication systems, smart grids, optimization, controls, and electrical event detection. His areas of expertise are real-time DSP, Wi-Fi and Wi-MAX, adaptive systems, and mobile communication in multipath fading channels. He has served as the organizer and conference chair of IEEE Green Energy and Systems Conference (IGESC) since 2010. Dr. Yeh has more than 100 technical publications in the areas of signal processing, communications, controls, and smart grids. He has been granted four US patents, and received five NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory awards and the Aerospace Corp. Inventor's Award.
He was selected as a NASA JPL Summer Faculty Fellow in 1992 and 2003 and a Boeing Welliver Faculty Fellow in 2006. Yeh is the recipient of many CSULB teaching awards, including the Northrop Grumman Excellence in Teaching Award (2007), the Distinguished Faculty Scholarly and Creative Achievement Award (2009), and Outstanding Professor Award (2015). Dr. Yeh has been a consultant for etc. A senior IEEE member and professional electrical engineer, Yeh has consulted for many companies, including JPL, Texas Instruments, the Aerospace Corp., and AT&T.
