The BS in Computer Science and the BS in Computer Engineering programs prepare a student for a successful career as a computer professional and/or entry to a graduate school. The core requirements provide a solid foundation on the theories of computer science. The electives offer a student a wide range of choices in the areas of applied computer science such as: embedded systems, networking and network administration, artificial intelligence, Java technologies, and databases.
The BS in Engineering Technology, Technology and Engineering Option program prepares students for teaching technology and programming courses at the middle or high school levels.
The CECS Department maintains a close relationship with local industries. Through our affiliation with the industries, the department receives grants and funding to enhance our educational programs and structures its curriculum to the needs of industries. The department's industrial relations lead to direct and immediate benefits for our students in the form of scholarships, summer internship positions, and employment upon graduation.
