DR. RANA FORSATI
Dr. Rana Forsati joined the CSULB Department of Computer Engineering & Computer Science 2017. She worked three years as a postdoctoral research fellow and instructor at Michigan State University after earning her Ph.D in Computer Science in 2014 from Shahid Beheshti University (formerly National University of Iran). She spent one year of her Ph.D. as a visiting research scholar at University of Minnesota.
Rana's research lies at the interface of machine learning, large-scale data mining, and optimization with a focus on developing data-driven solutions for applications in recommender systems, social network analysis, and natural language processing. She developed different matrix completion and ranking algorithms for large-scale learning problems. Recently, she developed novel stochastic semi-supervised learning methods for exploiting trust and distrust relations for link prediction in social networks and effective recommendation in e-commerce.
