The James L. Jensen Undergraduate Research Fellowship awards $1,000 to a declared undergraduate major in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics to engage in undergraduate research with a CNSM faculty member.
This fellowship is awarded in honor of Dr. James L. Jensen, Dean of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics during the years 1993-1995. As a young faculty member, Dr. Jensen was known for his excellence in teaching and mentoring students engaged in research. The Jensen Undergraduate Research Fellowship has been established to recognize and support outstanding undergraduate engaged in research during the Fall 2017, Spring 2018, or Summer 2018 with a faculty member in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
Completed applications are due Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 4:00pm. Submit completed applications via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Scholarship application opens November 1, 2016.
Selection will be made by a faculty committee convened by the Dean.
The recipient of the James L. Jensen Undergraduate Research Fellowship will be recognized in an award ceremony held in the department of the student's major. The recipient will be encouraged to present the results of the research at the annual CNSM Student Research Symposium held early each fall semester and to acknowledge support received from the James L. Jensen Undergraduate Research Fellowship in publications involving the research completed during the period of support.
