Visiting Professor Pasquale Palmieri will present his new book, "The Incorrupt Body of Theresa Margaret Redi"

Graziadio Center and theDepartment of Romance, German, Russian Languages and Literatures is delighted to welcome Fulbright recipient Pasquale Palmieri for the 2014-2015 academic year Dr. Palmieri received his Ph.D. in theHistory of European Society at the University of Naples, “FedericoII” in 2007). His research interests include Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century European and Italian History, with a particular emphasis on the relationship between religion and politics. He also works on  the Eighteenth-Century Italian novel, print culture and book history. He has published twenty articles on these topics and two books: I taumaturghi della società.Santie potere politico nel secolo dei Lumi (Rome, Viella, 2010); and La santa, i  miracoli ela Rivoluzione. Unastoriadi politica e devozione (Bologna, Il Mulino,2012). The working title of his current research project is “Best-selling stories in Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century Italy: a Comparative Study”. Dr. Palmieri will teach in the multiple departments this year. He will also collaborate with Professors Donato and Vettore on the new Italian MA program, which begins this Fall.
