Film Series Screening and Discussion of "Detroit Unleaded"

October 1, 2014

CSULB students, with the LA/Islam Arts Initiative, present a series of Middle Eastern and Middle East-American movies, which showcase insightful filmmakers that show that whether you live in the Middle East or here, people still dream of the future. This series is co-sponsored by the departments of Middle Eastern Studies, History, Religious Studies, and Political Science.

Detroit Unleaded (2012) follows Lebanese-Americans Sami and Naj struggling for their future together in this romantic comedy. As a special treat, writer and director Rola Nashef will discuss her film after the screening.

All films are free, and open to anyone wishing to attend!
