Department of History Hosts Guest Lecture and Medieval Music Event

Screen Shot 2014-03-04 at 10.19.11 AMCome explore the illuminations and music of one of the most exquisite manuscripts of the Middle Ages, the Stammheim Missal, on Friday, March 7. Dr. Sciacca, Assistant Curator at the J. Paul Getty Museum, will be presenting her lecture titled “A Book for Bernward: The Images, Music, and Patronage of the Stammheim Missal.” Dr. Sciacca specializes in medieval manuscripts and recently curated the exhibit, “Florence at the Dawn of the Renaissance: Painting and Illumination 1300-1350.”

CSULB students will perform music that they have transcribed from the book for this event. Coffee and light refreshments will be served.
