Talks with Dr. Shira Klein on Italian Jews and the Holocaust

CSULB’s Jewish Studies Program is pleased to bring to Long Beach Dr. Shira Klein for two talks on the Jewish people of Italy on November 19. Her first talk will be held on campus in FO2 101A at 4 p.m. and will cover “The Holocaust in Italy: History and Memory.” This talk is co-sponsored by the George L. Graziadio Center for Italian Studies.
Dr. Klein’s second talk will be held later the same evening at the Alpert Jewish Community Center at 7:30 p.m. and will cover “Italian Jews from Emancipation to World War II.” This talk is co-sponsored by the Alpert Jewish Community Center and the Jewish Federation of Greater Long Beach and West Orange County.
Dr. Klein is an assistant professor of History at Chapman University. She joined the Department of History in Fall 2012 after completing her PhD at New York University. She is currently revising her doctoral dissertation into a book manuscript, a cultural history of Italian Jews in the modern period.
