Email Issues

There are certain issues that CLA faculty and staff should be aware of with respect to the new email system:

  1. Some legitimate email messages are being automatically filtered into the junk mail folder. Information Technology Services is aware of the issue. It is recommended that you regularly monitor the junk email folder. If a legitimate message is moved to the Junk Email folder please take the following steps. In Outlook 2010 for Windows:  right click the message, select “Junk Email”, and select “Never Block Sender”. In Outlook 2011 for Macintosh:  hold the control key and click the message, select the “Junk Email “ item, and “Mark as Not  Junk”.  Macintosh Mail; hold the control key and click message, select Mark,  and select “as not junk mail”. The message can then be moved to the inbox or appropriate folder.
  2. If after the email migration you are missing contacts or email messages, they are likely stored locally on your computer and need to be manually imported the new email system.
  3. If you set a “Vacation Message” notification in the old email system prior to the migration you may not be receiving email messages sent to your old address.  The setting will need to be removed by ITS.
