Bob is the Vice President of Partnerships at the LA84 Foundation, an organization which is the legacy of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games and which funds youth sports in Southern California, trains coaches, and examines the role of sports in our society. In his current role he oversees the creation and management of local and national partnerships with companies, foundations and community-based organizations interested in supporting youth sports programs and related research funded by the LA84 Foundation. He’s also responsible for the Foundation’s branding and overall awareness in Southern California.
R.W. Sports & Entertainment Group, Inc. is a sales, advertising, branding and marketing agency based in Orange County, CA that specializes in the Sports, Entertainment and Philanthropic industries. Current clients include The Source, a $400 million retail, commercial and entertainment complex in Buena Park CA, Melin, a high-end head-wear company based in Oceanside, CA, Mobilitie, a major Wi-Fi and Digital Antenna System company headquartered in Newport Beach, CA, Avalon Synergies, an executive search firm based out of Dallas, TX, the Lake Elsinore Diamond Sports Center in Lake Elsinore CA, Theme Park consultant for Cognolink, Atheneum Partners, Alpha Sights and Coleman Research and The City of Lake Elsinore.
Bob joined the LA84 Foundation after a two-year tenure as Corporate Vice President of Strategic Alliances at the Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, one of the largest amusement-resort operators in the world. He was the Senior Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer of the Anaheim Ducks Hockey franchise and the Honda Center from 2004 to 2011 leading all the business operations. He also held senior level positions with the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), Gene Autry and the Walt Disney Company’s Anaheim Angels (now Los Angeles Angels) MLB Baseball Club and Mighty Ducks NHL Hockey Club. In these roles, he secured high-profile naming rights, cable television broadcast agreements, expanded community relations and fan development efforts, and generated millions of dollars in sponsorship and ticket sales revenue through successful marketing, public relations, advertising and broadcasting campaigns.
He currently serves on the Corporate Partner Committee of the Southern California Special Olympics as well as on the Advisory Board of the Sports Management Program at his alma mater, CSU Long Beach. Bob is also currently a mentor at the University of Oregon Student Athletic Career Mentoring Program. In the past, he has served on the Board of Directors at Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) and Santa Margarita Catholic High School. Bob has been a Sports Marketing instructor at the University of San Francisco and at Long Beach State and a guest speaker for sports management programs at several of the top universities across the US. In 2011, he was named Orange Country Father of the Year by the National Father’s Day Council and the Orange County Chapter of the American Diabetes AssociationBob is a third generation native of Seal Beach, California and currently resides in Dove Canyon with his wife Debbie and their three children, Ryan, Amanda and Nick.
