SoCal Trykers 2017

On January 28th, 2017, current students, alumni, prospective students, faculty and staff (along with their families) gathered in the East Gym on campus for the annual SoCal Trykers giveaway. Dr. Noel Spina, PT, DPT, PCS, C/NDT, and CSULB PT alumni, coordinated the group with building and distributing 14 adaptive tricycles to very happy children.

Students from the Classes of 2017 and 2018 worked with Dr. Noel Spina to build 3 adaptive bikes that will be donated to charity. Kudos to all who participated for your dedication and hard work!

CSULB DPT October Month of Service, 2016

When students were tasked with coming up with a service activity for PT Month on October, they got so excited that they came up with 6 activities that were spread throughout October and November. Service is a true mission for this group of students.

  • New Life Beginnings Donation Drive - donated food, toiletries, paper goods, clothes and their time and talents to the women and children at New Life Beginnings in Long Beach.
  • Rancho Los Amigos 31st Spinal Injury games - students volunteered with set-up and assisting athletes

  • Long Beach Marathon - Students assisted with post-race athlete management
  • Filipino Migrant Center Walking Club - Students provided educaton on exercises and stretches for the members of the walking club

  • SoCal Trykers Info and Eval Day - Students assisted clinicians with bike evaluations
  • SoCal Special Olympics Fall Games - Students performed strength, endurance, and flexibility screens on athletes.
