Student Categories

We can consider for admission three categories of applicants for the ADN to BSN Program. Applicants must follow instructions for their own category.

CSULB students with less than 75 units apply by submitting a School of Nursing application with all transcripts by the deadline. If you are a CSULB student with more than 75 units, you may be required to complete your current degree. You will need to contact your academic advisor for permission to change your major to ADN to BSN.

Undergraduate Transfer students apply to the CSULB via Cal State Apply   between October 1 to November 30, 2018. The degree objective is Nursing: Registered Nurse . CSULB Enrollment Services will request, by email after January 1, 2019, an Enrollment Services supplemental application from well qualified transfer applicants. Therefore, undergraduate transfer students will be required to submit the CSULB application, the CSULB supplemental application and the School of Nursing application by the deadlines. Applicants, who are offered admission to both CSULB and the SON, will then be requested to submit transcripts promptly.

Applicants with Bachelor's degrees in other fields may apply to this program. These applicants must use the graduate Cal State Apply application between October 1 to November 30, 2018.. The degree objective is Additional BS Nursing: Registered Nurse. When Enrollment Services requests official transcripts, applicants must quickly comply. Applicants must also submit a Nursing Application between January 1 to February 10, 2019

Please note: ADN/RN students with a BS/BA degree in another field can be admitted to earn a BSN degree from CSULB or can apply for any of the MSN degree programs and complete the necessary prerequisites (BSN courses) prior to starting the MSN. Please attend the MSN Information sessions or contact Alison, Graduate Info specialist (562-985-8379) for more information and to discuss your options.
