Student Learning Outcomes for Hospitality Management


The mission of the Hospitality Management program is to meet the needs of the industry and community by preparing individuals to become successful professionals who are capable of assuming leadership roles in a dynamic, multi-cultural, domestic, and international job market.

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the program, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate knowledge of and experience in operations relative to the provision of goods and services in Hospitality Management.
  2. Apply knowledge of financial management to operations related to hospitality management.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of computer applications, management information systems, and quantitative methods.
  4. Examine foundations of management, leadership, and human resources in hospitality management.
  5. Demonstrate effective written and interpersonal communication skills.
  6. Acquire knowledge of a global perspective and diversity issues as related to hospitality management.
  7. Develop an awareness of the various career opportunities and options within the hospitality industry.
  8. Recognize legal and ethical considerations affecting foodservice and lodging organizations.
