Application Process and Deadlines

DEADLINE INFORMATION

Application Materials:

  • Completed graduate application and application fee. (Applications are to be completed online via CalState.edu/apply.)
  • Officially reported GRE scores. Send GRE scores using the CSULB institution code, 4389.
  • Official transcripts. Note: Official transcripts sent through DICAS (for internship applicants) are not sufficient for the MS in Nutritional Science application; official transcripts must also be provided to the University. Mail to:

  • Three (3) letters of recommendation. When completing your application in CSU Apply, you will be asked to provide contact information for three recommenders. An email will be generated and sent to the email addresses you provide, asking for a letter to be uploaded on your behalf. At least two letters must come from professors. One letter may come from a nutrition professional outside of the university setting (such as a work or volunteer supervisor). Please ask your recommenders to include a comment on your preparation for graduate study, including research, in their letters.
    Note: Letters of recommendation sent through DICAS (for internship applicants) are not sufficient; the three letters must also be uploaded in CSU Apply for the FCS department.

For students choosing the IPND Emphasis (Dietetic Internship). Send these items to IPND Director, Dr. Gail Frank:

  • The “Letter of Intent” (Before December 1st is best but accepted until February 15th)
  • The “GPA Sheet”
  • The “Work Experience Sheet”
  • A check for $45 made payable to CSULB (non-refundable)
