Family Life Track

Upon completion of the program students will be able to:

  1. Summarize the historical overview of family life education;
  2. Explain the definitions, purpose, nature, concepts, content, rationale, and principles of family life education;
  3. Understand the ethics and boundaries in family life education;
  4. Explain the process of planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating programs in family life education;
  5. Demonstrate sensitivity to class, gender, ethnic, and racial variability among families;
  6. Compare and contrast some of the established programs in family life education;
  7. Explain recent developments and models to teach effective communication, marriage, and sexual education;
  8. Develop new directions of family life education programs;
  9. Explore the procedure for certification as a Family Life Educator by the National Council on Family Relations.
  10.  Be employed in social service agencies, church settings, military bases, governmental offices, start your own business, doctor’s offices, etc.
