CHHS is excited to announce that the second annual conference on Latino and Healthy Equity will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Student Union Ballrooms. This event is brought to you by Hispanic Health Opportunities Learning Alliance (H2OLA), and the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) / California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) Center for Latino Community Health, in collaboration with the CSULB College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (CNSM) and the Department of Health Sciences (HSC).
The Hispanic Health Opportunities Learning Alliance (H2OLA) is hosting its second annual conference on Latino Health Equity entitled, “Enriching Health Sciences through Latino Leadership/Enriqueciendo Ciencias de la Salud a través del Liderazgo Latino.” The conference will provide a unique opportunity for interested individuals and professionals to collaborate with national thought leaders, build consensus, make recommendations, and develop strategies to promote health equity and scientific leadership with an emphasis on Latino communities. Student participants are welcome to submit abstracts for poster presentations regarding health inequalities as well as social, cultural and environmental effects on health. The poster session will be held from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. in the Alamito’s Bay room, adjacent to the University Student Ballrooms where the conference will be hosted. Awards will be given for the top three poster presentations. Awards will be announced during the conference.
