Michael E. Solt
Michael E. Solt is the Dean of the College of Business Administration at California State University, Long Beach. He is committed to student and faculty success through developing innovative programs and increasing support for the scholarly and creative activities of the CBA faculty.
In addition to his role as Dean, Michael also serves as Director of the Ukleja Center for Ethical Leadership. Working with the center’s Governing Council and staff, he provides strategic leadership and builds relationships with academic peers, community leaders, and funding partners, thus ensuring continuity of ethical leadership as a top priority of the college.
Previously, Michael was the Associate Dean for the Lucas Graduate School of Business and a Professor of Finance at San Jose State University where he taught New Venture Finance and International Finance. During his career, he has won teaching awards at San Jose State University and the University of Cincinnati.
Michael recognizes the importance of the connection between scholarship and teaching. His papers have appeared in many respected academic publications, such as the Journal of Business, American Sociological Review, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Financial Management, Journal of Portfolio Management, Financial Analysts Journal, and American Business Law Journal.
Michael received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Ohio State University in 1972. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree in 1976 and a Doctor of Business Administration degree in Finance in 1978, both from Indiana University. Michael began his leadership responsibilities at CSULB in 2008.
