Meet the 2014-2015 MBAA Board:
Eve Espindola, President
I was born and raised in the countryside in southern Brazil, but have been in the US since 2004. My professional background is in banking and international logistics, my undergraduate is in international relations and Latin American Studies. Currently I work with undergraduate students providing professional development opportunities through several different programs. Since starting my MBA I had the intention to become involved with this organization and try to bring the same networking and out-of-classroom learning opportunities that undergraduates at the College of Business have. I definitely believe that the combined strengths of this board will bridge that gap between classroom learning and professional world expectations.
Ayako Chizaki, Treasurer
Hi, my name is Ayako Chizaki. I am a full time Evening MBA student from Japan. This is my forth semester. My background is Fashion Marketing and Trend Analysis, and I major Finance while I am in this MBA program. I joined MBAA because I noticed that networking with both inside and outside of school is very helpful for my future career. I would like to plan events which will give great networking opportunities for all MBA students for their future
Erica DeLoera, Secretary
I was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and I am a graduate from Oklahoma State University who majored in Apparel Merchandising. While at OSU, I was very involved in the community and volunteered for local nursing homes, Habitat for Humanity, and the Ronald McDonald House. I was also very involved in various campus organizations and served as an officer for the Hispanic Student Association all four years. In 2011, I was also crowned Miss Hispanic OSU, which helped me get more involved in my community and serve as an advocate for Latino students on campus and promote cultural diversity. As part of CSULB MBAA, I hope to encourage other students to get involved and get to know other students and faculty. I am excited to see what this year has in store for us. Go Beach!
Meharvan Singh, Director of Internal Affairs
My name is Meharvan Singh and I’m an international student from New Delhi, India currently enrolled in the self-paced evening MBA program at California State University, Long Beach. I completed my undergraduate degree in Biotechnology from Amity University, Noida as part of a 4-year Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) course. I’ve worked as a teacher of foreign and local languages, while at the same time also working in a furniture manufacturing company in Delhi. The two domains that are of particular interest to me are Marketing and Finance. I haven’t thought as far ahead in the future so as to be in a position to talk about my future career plan. But yes, I would like to have real-world experience working in a company for a few years before I work in our family business or start my own business.
