Michael Solt is Dean of the College of Business Administration and Professor of Finance at California State University, Long Beach. Previously, he was the Associate Dean for the Lucas Graduate School of Business at San Jose State University. He has a 30-year career teaching and researching Finance and has won teaching awards at SJSU and the University of Cincinnati.

The focus of his teaching has been managerial finance, but he has concentrated most on teaching new venture finance and international finance. He offers courses with equal comfort at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

His current research interests are in new venture finance and entrepreneurship, and he is working on a study of venture capital in China. He has also researched international finance and many aspects of investments. His work has been published in the Journal of Business, the American Sociological Review, the Journal of Product Innovation Management, Financial Management, the Journal of Portfolio Management, the Financial Analysts Journal, and the American Business Law Journal.
