Requirements to Declare Business Administration as a Major

Fall 2016-Spring 2017

The requirements to declare Business Administration as a major are as follows:

  1. Minimum Cumulative and CSULB GPA: 2.5
  2. Minimum lower division CBA courses (grade of C or better):
    • ECON 100(Principles of Macroeconomics)
    • ECON 101(Principles of Microeconomics)
    • MATH 115(Calculus for Business) or MATH 122(Calculus I) or MATH 123(Calculus II)
    • ACCT 201(Elementary Financial Accounting)
    • ACCT 202 (Mangerial Accounting) available Fall 2017
  3. Required General Education Foundation courses (grade of C or better):
    • Written Communication in English (A1)
    • Oral Communication in English (A2)
    • Critical Thinking (A3)

If the total number of units for you to obtain a Business Administration degree exceeds the 144 Timely Graduation unit cap set by the University, your major request may be denied.  The CBA Committee will only consider major requests that exceed 144 units for serious and compelling reasons.
