The Gifts Make Giving Easier

You may have heard the historic news that for the first time the California state budget calls for a smaller allocation than what students pay in tuition and fees. That is why private support is more important now than at any other time.

You can help preserve access to one of the nation’s best universities through your philanthropy. Here are some easy ways to make a deferred gift that will help students and faculty members achieve their goals:
  • Give a gift of life insurance. If you have a fully paid permanent life insurance policy whose coverage has become surplus, consider donating it to CSULB.
  • Make a bequest in your will or trust.
  • Get tax-free income, a tax deduction and also help students by creating a charitable gift annuity.
  • If you are age 70 ½ or older, consider making a charitable distribution to CSULB from your Individual Retirement Account before Dec. 31, 2011.
